Due to the continuing Covid19 situation in Auckland, the New Zealand Fencing Championships due to take place in Auckland 23rd to 25th October has been cancelled.
Fencing NZ are currently working on a Calendar for 2022, with additional events to be scheduled early in the year.
The Selection Criteria for international events in 2022 are also being revised to take into account the limited National events in 2021 and the inability to travel to overseas competitions.

Fencing clubs throughout New Zealand are reminded to operate within the Ministry of Health and Sport NZ guidelines for each Covid19 Level.
Auckland clubs will remain closed while in Level 4 and Level 3.

The Commonwealth Fencing Championships 2022 is scheduled to take place in August 2022 in London. This will be a huge tournament - combining the Open, Veteran and Junior and Cadet Commonwealth Championships.
Given the travel restrictions in place due to the COVID19 pandemic, the Oceania Fencing Confederation have made the decision to cancel the 2021 Oceania Championships. Fencing NZ will make a decision regarding the New Zealand Championships, which are scheduled to take place at Labour weekend (23rd to 25th October), on the 28th September.
National competitions will only be held if the host region is in Level 1.

Given the ongoing COVID19 situation, the Board has decided to postpone the New Zealand Junior Fencing Championship to later in the year - date to be confirmed.
Fencing North will process refunds for those fencers already registered.
