As you will be aware, due to closed borders, the Oceania Junior (U20) tournament scheduled in Auckland in September will instead be the NEW ZEALAND Junior (U20) Championship.

Due to the reduction in expected entries, the tournament, originally scheduled for 3 days (10th to 12th September) will now be condensed to 2 days only (Saturday and Sunday - 11th and 12th September).

The Oceanic Fencing Confederation has advised that, due to many countries being unable to send teams to compete, the Oceanic Junior (U-20) Championships planned for September 10th – 12th in Auckland this year has been cancelled.

The tournament will instead be the New Zealand Junior (U-20) Fencing Championships on the same dates, and the Oceanic Teams Competition will be replaced by a NZ National Regional Teams competition..

The mission of the Officiating Commission is to review rules and regulations, to organise training and selection of officials to officiate at Fencing New Zealand competitions.

The FeNZ Covid-19 sub committee has reviewed the current situation and elevated Covid-19 alert level status in the Wellington region.

Based on the information available at this point, and following the advice from the FeNZ medical officer, the recommendation is to continue as planned with the President’s Cup this weekend.

The COVID19 Committee advises that unless the whole country is in Level 1, the President's Cup will be postponed. Wellington is currently under a 72 hour Level 2 restriction. The Committee will continue to monitor developments and will make a decision on the President's Cup on Monday or Tuesday.
